Girls Gymnastics Program Intro

At Alamo Gymnastics Center, our Girls Gymnastics Program is designed to nurture and develop the skills of young gymnasts through a structured, progressive training system. Our program offers a range of classes tailored to different skill levels, ensuring that each gymnast receives the appropriate level of instruction and support as they advance. Additionally, our classes are designed to teach recreational gymnastics with enough technical quality to prepare gymnasts for entry into the USAG Xcel competitive program. Below is an overview of the classes we offer:

Girls Intro Class

A gymnastics class for beginners. Students will learn basic positions and exercises on all four apparatuses (Vault, Bars, Beam, & Floor). Intro class is designed to focus on gymnastics terms and basic coordination.

Prerequisites

NONE

Girls Level 01

In this class students will build on the skills they learned in Intro level, increasing the amplitude and difficulty, and connecting skills together. Level 1 class is designed to focus on strength and active coordination.

Pass Intro or Approved by Staff evaluation

Girls Level 02

In this class students will build on the skills learned in Level 1. Level 2 class is designed to focus on strength, flexibility and integrates coordination

Pass Level 1 or Approved by Staff evaluation

Girls Level 03

In this class students will be introduced to skills of s higher difficulty, such as the back handspring on floor and cartwheels on high beam, It is suggested that Level 3 gymnasts try to enroll in more then one class a week in order to increase their strength and continue their progress. Level 3 focuses on integrated coordination and technique.

Pass Level 2 or Approved by Staff evaluation

Girls Level 04

This is an uneven bars and conditioning-heavy class designed to polish Level 3 skills and to prepare students for the Competitive Team Program. We suggest students take both Level 4 and Tumble 3 or higher as they will not be eligible for the Competitive Team unless they have the majority of skills on all four events.
